One of our chair making workshops by Matteo Fogale with the local community in Peterborough.
The workshop was part of our The Future Libraries Initiative pop up project on Peterborough's high street. Eight participants made 16 chairs, learning with and from one another. We used handheld power and manual tools to make a durable piece of furniture from just a few bits of timber. The chairs have been waxed and finished to be used in the community space for years to come.
A space feels different when you built the furniture yourself.
